Due to the magic of twitter (with a big shout out to Louise) we found out about the IndieAthon happening throughout March. The event is the brainchild of Lia (Lost in a Story), Joel, Marie (Lots of Livres), Syd (Reading & Rambling) and Eloise (Eloise Writes) and is a month long readathon dedicated to reading books by self published and indie authors and small presses. Of course we are entirely up for this and can't wait to show you our TBR! We'd also like to say how awesome we think the hosts are for organising this event and encouraging people to read more indie books!
Those of you who know me from my blogging days prior to starting the book box will be unsurprised to see that my TBR is.... over ambitious shall we say? I also have a secret TBR of things I'm reading for potential future boxes and book club. I hope my pile is inspiring! Let me know in the comments if you're joining in too - I'd love to see your TBRs.
I'm most excited to read (and will probably start with) The Gift of Rain by Tan Twan Eng (published by Head of Zeus) because I read and loved The Garden of Evening Mists last year. I'm currently reading Why I'm No Longer Talking to White People About Race by Reni Eddo-Lodge (Bloomsbury) and so this will be the perfect motivation to finish it. It's a really important book and is making me think about my own life and my attitude to race and the way that I speak about it in a completely different way. Difficult reading but definitely worth it. There's a lot of genre diversity in this pile and I'm hoping that will help me avoid my usual ignoring TBR piles as soon as I've made them... Wish me luck!
The Indieathon is happening throughout March and using #Indieathon on social media where you can chat to other participants, check out everyone's TBRs and add more great indie books to your wishlist!

Happy reading!
